Who We Are

Soaring harmonies, timeless songwriting, and a nostalgic sound that sends you back to a time you once knew (or never knew). That’s Misty Blue.

Misty Blue brings a vintage sound into the present, somewhere between a lost ’70s record and your favourite childhood rom-com. Their songs are about searching for love in all the wrong places, finding yourself, making bad decisions, letting loose, and figuring things out together.

The band’s chemistry makes vintage feel authentic, calling back to an era when musicians were live performers first. If you’re seeing them perform in a dive bar in Toronto or hearing their record in your headphones, the spirit is the same. Their shows feel like getting pulled into a rock ’n’ roll party with five friends. Voices crack, people scream along, and everyone gets a little lost in it together. You may even forget to pull out your phone. Think Woodstock 1969.

Misty Blue has built an engaged audience of 12K+ on TikTok and performed at Canadian festivals including CNE, NXNE, Tall Pines, Revelree, and more, sharing stages with Blue Rodeo, Tokyo Police Club, Serena Ryder, Bedouin Soundclash, and more. They have recorded with Juno Award-winning producer Gus Van Go (The Beaches, Metric, Baby Nova) and Juno Award-winning producer Tim Abraham (lead composer, Global News; Sam Roberts Band; James Barker Band), collaborated with Juno Award-winning songwriters including Maia Davies and Kirstyn Johnson, and were featured in a worldwide Jack Daniel’s campaign directed by Omar Jones (The Weeknd, Future, Ice Spice).

Misty Blue makes music for late-night drives, figuring out who you are, making bad decisions, having fun while you do it, and the friends you make along the way.

“Sonically, “Runaway” brings to mind early Sheryl Crow. It’s got “My Favorite Mistake” vibes, and it has everything to do with Ally’s warm, sunny voice. Additionally, there are hints of Angel Olsen and Waxahatchee in there as well. Ally’s vocals are upbeat and sweet, which round out the early 2000s sound that the instrumentals create for her.”
